Hi Lucas,
Nice Blog. How do you like the Meadow Oaks club ? The church has certainly changed since the last pastor moved on.
Regards,
Jeff
hey jeff,
i’m really enjoying getting to know everyone. it was good to talk to you last night a little. thanks for checking out the site.
Hey Lucas,
I just read your article on youthspecialties.com…very good stuff. I’m a Truett Student right now, working on my M.Div. while also working as a part-time Middle School Pastor.
I also like to have a Church Billboard of the Week as a running special on my blog. Sorry, I stole a pic from you that were freaking hilarious. And I thought I was one of the few cynics about church’s and the stupid things they put for the entire world to see.
Lucas,
Can’t really remember now HOW I stumbled across your site/music…but your church/youth ministry experiences (good/bad/mucho ugly?), web design skills, and musical fortitude…well, I’m hoping you and I can meet/talk for a bit on the tele soon…’bout working out a Christian worldview, REALITY TRIP, and your musical aspirations…
Zip me a # and I’ll call ye soon on my dime…

Totally original. I’m a big fan of your comic book “About me” section. I learned more about you in that sequence than in any other “About me” section I’ve ever read. What did you use to make it?
Cheers,
B.
Cool comic. I like the livnig room thing. sniff sniff smells like a vineyard meeting great job lucas.
Lord Bless YOu and your ministries

Hey Sonshine! I just found the comic book about you and loved it!!! Goldie looked quite at home in the Living Room setting. Now you have to include Saebo (sp?) so she won’t feel left out too! Love, Mom
Lucas,
We need to get your mailing address so that we can send out the Mark Yaconelli book Contemplative Youth Ministry. Please respond back to both Lisa Taylor (lisa.taylor@zondervan.com) and myself and we’ll make sure to get this sent out ASAP. Thanks.
Thanks Jamie
Dude.
I made your comic?
Dude.
cool blog, and even cooler slideshow…
Hey, Lucas!
I was just thinking about you this morning and figured I’d track you down and see what you’ve been up to. As for me, I’m working on trying to put together a college and church youth group-type of tour for the fall and spring. Any ideas!?!?! I was thinking maybe you’d know of a few good places/networks to check out, for me to start looking into this… Doesn’t that church you used to work at up here have concerts/coffeehouse-type things for its students? I can’t remember the name of it, for the life of me.
Take care! And I hope to hear from you soon!
-Jay
what up jay?
st. paul lutheran did the coffeehouse thing while i was there but i kind of doubt they are now. i think seminary has drained me of ideas because i have to think too hard… mostly just building relationships with people and making space to hang out, be and finding a way in the midst of that to make space for God to move. vague i know but you know what’s going on there better. good to hear from you. i’ll let you know if i ever get this live house show recorded.
Hi there, Lucas!
Quick question: do you still have a copy of Mighty Luther hanging out on your computer somewhere? I’d love to put a picture of him up on my office door (unless he’s copyrighted, property of Lucas Land, etc.).
I’m a month into my ELCA internship, and oh my is it interesting. I’m caught in the middle of a big church staffing transition right now, which means that all of the sudden I’m in charge of carrying out youth programming with a youth group who has just lost their youth director (and who are thus predisposed to hate me on principle). Yikes. Church politics are fun, right? Ick. But other than that, things are good – I’m learning a lot, and it’s sort of fun to be something other than a student for a while…
Hope things are good with you!
yikes… not my idea of fun, but definitely a learning experience. i’m sure i have mighty luther floating around somewhere. i will track him down and send him your way.
Lucas, I have a few questions for you, and I would rather talk over email than this public setting. You can reach me at

Thank you,
